Euclid Transactional, a global managing general agent (MGA) known for its focus on transactional insurance underwriting and claims, has launched operations in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, establishing its headquarters in Singapore.

The Singapore office will enable Euclid Transactional to offer services related to mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions, tax liabilities, and contingent risks across the APAC region, adding to its existing capabilities in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The APAC initiative will be spearheaded by Alice Ho, appointed as the head of APAC.

She joined Euclid Transactional with extensive experience from her previous role as counsel in the M&A team at Clifford Chance’s Singapore office, where she advised on significant transactions both regionally and internationally.

She will be supported by Edward Chow as assistant vice president and Sean Goh as an analyst.

Ho said her team members will draw on their deep knowledge of regional M&A activity and leverage the firm’s extensive experience, which includes underwriting nearly 7,000 policies for transactions valued at over $5.3 trillion globally.

“I am thrilled to lead Euclid Transactional in APAC and to join a team that has focused on collaborating globally to deliver the best underwriting and claims service to clients, brokers, and advisors,” she said.

Why did Euclid Transactional launch operations in APAC?

Jay Rittberg, managing principal of Euclid Transactional, highlighted the importance of the new office, noting the consistent demand from broker partners and clients for support in the APAC region since the company’s inception in 2016.

“Our APAC team has deep understanding and knowledge of this product and transactions in the APAC market, and we are confident that we will provide the same excellent level of commercial underwriting and claims experience that we have delivered to our clients in North America and EMEA,” Rittberg said.

Mark Storrie, principal of Euclid Transactional EMEA, expressed confidence in the company’s long-term commitment to the region.

“Alice is a seasoned attorney with a deep understanding of transactional insurance, and through her leadership and partnering with our valued brokers, we hope to bring transactional insurance solutions to more deals in APAC,” he said.

Euclid Transactional operates with a team of over 140 employees across 10 offices worldwide, including a dedicated claims team of more than 20 professionals.

The APAC operations in Singapore will operate under a delegation of authority from Swiss Re International SE’s Singapore branch, offering representations and warranties insurance, tax liability insurance, and contingent liability insurance. This arrangement is registered with the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and Euclid Transactional APAC Pte Ltd is also registered with the General Insurance Association of Singapore.

This expansion represents a significant step for Euclid Transactional as it navigates the challenging global M&A landscape while continuing to grow its international presence.
